Diving deeper
Efficiency punishes a deep bench: with fodder behind your starters the right lineup is obvious, but with good players sitting there every week is a coin flip. So each week is also compared with autopilot, the lineup you'd get by starting whoever had the best season-to-date average (last season's helps fill in the first few weeks; players who scored 0 are treated as byes or inactive).
- Hidden pts: points the best lineup found that autopilot missed. Bigger means the bench made the calls harder.
- vs autopilot: points gained or lost by not just starting the usual guys.
- Decision score: the share of those hidden points the manager actually captured. 0% is autopilot; below zero means the tinkering cost points.
Efficiency by season
Share of the best possible score each manager actually put up. Blue beats that season's league average, red trails it.
Costliest benchings
The weeks with the most points left on the bench, and the lineup changes that would have fixed them. Swaps follow the lineup rules: QB, K and DEF swap for the same position; RB, WR and TE can swap through the flex.
